Holiday homes close to the beach on La Palma, Canary Islands
This is a selection of holiday houses, bungalows and apartments which are either within walking distance of the beaches or holiday resorts on La Palma, or they are within a few minutes car drive away from the beach.
The main beaches on the island of La Palma are:

- Los Cancajos on the eastern side of the island, 2 beaches, small boulevard, a few shops and restaurants and hotel and apartment complexes. Los Cancajos is close to the airport and the capital Santa Cruz de La Palma.

- Puerto Naos on the western coast of the island, black sand beach, boulevard, shops, restaurants and bars, car hire, excursions. There is almost always plenty of warmth and sunshine the whole year round. There is only one hotel and some small scale holiday apartments. The beach is popular with people staying in self-catering holiday homes all over the island.

- Tazacorte on the western coast of La Palma has a beach and a harbour.
The beach is black sand and partly protected from the ocean by a sea wall. There are a few shops, bars and restaurants on the boulevard. Playa de Tazacorte is where the beach is and should not be confused with Villa or Pueblo de Tazacorte which is separate village higher up the hill.
The harbour is a base for small fishing boats, private sailing yachts and pleasure boats.

Flowering almonds on La Palma
  From January until the end of February the thousands of almond trees on La Palma are in blossom.
The main almond areas are Puntagorda, Las Tricias and Tijarafe.
The Flowering Almond Festival is held every year at the end of January or beginning of February in Puntagorda.

Summer holidays on La Palma.
Many people think that La Palma is only for winter-sun holidays. Nothing could be further from the truth. Summertime is an excellent time to visit La Palma. The temperatures are almost always pleasantly warm and not too hot. La Palma does not have the unbearable summer heat waves typical of any Mediterranean areas.
Good weather, it rarely rains and the temperatures are between 22C and 30C
In the summer months there are village festivals and other activities .. all outside of course.
 
Winter sun holidays on La Palma.
La Palma is an excellent location for a winter-sun holiday, especially on the western side of the island. There the temperatures are almost always pleasantly warm and not too hot. Away from the coast the evenings may be cool. In winter the conditions are good for walking the many hundreds of miles of officially marked walking paths. Nature is at its greenest and there are always flowers in bloom.
